In the near future, desperate kids are forced to find employment anywhere they can get it–even if it means a contract with Metro Interstice Purgatorio, a city of daemons obsessed with American culture. Death Lightning was once one of those kids, until he realized working as a daemon lord’s gladiator wasn’t much better than his old job at a slaughterhouse. Now a vagrant clinging to a utopian dream, Death Lightning will have to build alliances with daemons and grave robbers to topple the powerful lords who maintain their ruthless contracts.
